International Event Rider Ruth Edge Makes Dressage Headlines

International event rider Ruth Edge is becoming increasingly successful in the dressage arena, recently winning her first National Championship with her own five-year-old gelding Shadowfax.

Bred impeccably by Sandro Hit out of a Rubenstein mare, Shadowfax was bought by Ruth as a four-year-old from Andrew Gould. She has produced him to deservedly win the National Winter Open Novice Championship.

Ruth also qualified the eye-catching grey Paper Tiger for the Open Elementary, Elementary Dressage to Music and the Open Medium National Championships.

Owned by Jonathon Snowdon and Sarah Connell-Smith, Paper Tiger is a seven-year-old by the prolific sire Java Sire, and is being aimed at an eventing career.

Ruth, one of the high profile team of riders sponsored by easibed, was delighted with Paper Tiger as he claimed top placings in all three Championship classes. He finished third in the Elementary Dressage To Music, eighth in the Open Elementary and “totally excelled himself” to take another third place in the Open Medium Championship.
