RICHARD DAVISON APPOINTED TEAM CAPTAIN

One of Britain’s most experienced international dressage competitors, Richard Davison has been appointed the World Class Performance Programme (WCPP) team captain for Britain’s senior dressage team.

This position has been created to support WCPP Dressage Manager David Trott, who has had to reduce his commitments to the programme due to personal circumstances. David will continue to manage the Dressage Equine Pathway programme for talented horses and David and Richard will work together in the run up to and during the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong.

Richard’s role will involve managing the team, including organisation and motivation but does not include any involvement in the selection process.

Richard said: “There are some amazing combinations at the top of our sport at the moment. They will be extremely busy over the next few months in the run-up to the Olympics and I will endeavour to help make their journey as easy as possible.”

David said: “I am grateful to Richard for taking on this job and cannot think of anybody better.”
